I've decided to take up knitting since I'll be jetting off without my sewing machine soon and I'm definately going to need something creative to do on my travels or I'll go mad! I've made one square non-functional scarf in the past which took me months to complete, but I've bought the book "Stitch and Bitch" by Debbie Stoller so I'm going to learn everything I need to know so I actually understand what I'm doing and why! Hoorah!
